Cinderella's Dress?

I'm just wondering, but why is Cinderella's dress always portrayed as blue when it comes to the Disney version?
I just watched the movie again for fun, && that dress is totally white.
Not even for just the beginning, for the majority of it her dress it white. I think it turns blue for a couple of minutes because of the lighting in the ballroom or patio/garden thing.
Ahh... this is bothering me. Where did this 'blue dress' idea come from?!

Appreciated,
Thankyou.

Landlord trying to keep deposit? Can he?

My mum and I rented houses for years from the same LL. Mum stood as guarantor for my rent and we both did work for him, showing empty houses, signing people up etc and we billed per job (per view, per tenancy sign up etc) he always paid us until the last invoice £360 of work which he refused to pay as now he disagreed with our charges. Eventually we told him to drive the 500 miles each time and do his own viewings and we submitted our notices for our houses. Our LL was not happy about this as he was losing both cheap workers and tenants who are willing to pay his extorcinate rents and to fix house problems ourselves (he refused to do any repairs in over 7 years)

Now I didn't pay my final rent and used my deposit instead - firstly we didn't trust him, secondly there was no point of an inspection as I'd renovated the house for the landlord in exchange for a cheaper (hardly!) rent and thirdly, we'd been told over the phone by his office just to pay the difference of £25 (which I did) and I heard nothing at all from them since. Which was fine of course.

Now my mum's moving date came later and she had also renovated her house (rented as a draughty house in a field, returned to LL as a cottage with a patio, buildings, driveway, garden etc but these were done at her own expense for her own enjoyment of the house with no rent reduction)

Now the LL inspected her house and said it was fine, her £690 bond would be returned and he'd pay her the £360 he owed for showing houses etc. He even asked her to cut him some keys and send them in with her bond request letter and he'd pay for them.

Now 2 months later she recieved her cheque. All £230 of it. He took costs for her inspection and mine (which they never even did, I handed keys straight over to next tenant), charges for the late rents at my house over the past 2 years (£50 each time) and even charges for 2 gas safety checks at my house and 1 at hers. After those I think he ran out of ideas how to take more from it.

Now can he take money from her bond for her house for charges against my tenancy? Can he use deposit money for anything other than damages etc? She's starting legal proceedings but do you think she'll win?
I just have to add that many of the charges for late rent for MY house were from almost a year before I moved. They never once requested late charges throughout the entire tenancy nor when I left. These were merely excuses to take money from my mum's security deposit for HER house.

God I thought this sort of landlord was dying out.
OK, if in the original agreement there is provision for a charge at check out, then he can. But if there is no provision, he can not. He can not take you check out fee from your mothers, a guarantor is for rent.
The charges for late rent, again can only be charges, if there is provision in the agreement, again he can not deduct yours from your mums.
The gas safety checks are the LL,s responsibility not yours, and he should have had one every 12mths.
Good luck, let me know what happens.

Both individually write to him, requesting a full breakdown of charges from the account (he has to legally comply with this, its your right). Give him 14 days to do this, say you have taken legal advice, and intend to pursue through the courts, your deposits in full minus any rent owed.

Go to CAB or contact Shelter www.shelter.co.uk both free and brilliant.

BARF diet. Dog has projectile Diahrrea?

Since introducing my dog to the "amazing" world of raw food he has done nothing but shoot liquid feces across my garden patio. I am hoping he will adjust to the raw chicken but I feel I may be doing more harm then good.

I don't like the thought of him eating processed food as I myself steer clear of damaging products. He loves eating raw chicken and really tucks into the bones and skin but the next morning its like a brown fountain that can only be uncomfortable for him.

Should I carry on until he adjusts or is the BARF diet a bad idea?

Thanks
@pete f

I started this on Monday and it is now saturday., so far he has had two mornings of the squirts. The first piece of raw chicken went through him just fine. :-/
Ok can I please request that only people with exp in feeding raw meat to dogs to reply.

As far as I am concered it is not a sin or bad judgement to try raw meat.

If Canines however had mastered the use of fire and have been cooking their kills over a camp fire then maybe it would make sense to ONLY feed them cooked meat, this is not the case and I would like advice from others who feed raw meat.

Thanks

He could have an allergy to a raw diet or a specific food you are including to the diet. The only to find out would be to take him to a vet and have him tested for any food allergies.

How long have you been feeding him on the BARF and what did you feed him before and also how have you introduced the diet? Many dogs do well by having a straight change over with no introduction but others do not react well to a straight change and need a gradual change. The diet you used to feed may be still in his system and this could be the result of the "runs" however this would depend how long you have been feeding him on BARF. When I changed over to BARF my 3 dogs did have the runs for a few days before I started to see formed faeces, however they had the "runs" on the food they had before I changed over.

If you have just changed over what have you been feeding? When you initially change over its best to stay on bland meat like beef and chicken before introducing richer meats like lamb, rabbit, etc and I also avoided fresh fish for a few weeks and also raw eggs (I used natural yoghurt instead of egg to begin with and gave then just the egg shells with the yoghurt).

For me personally I love the BARF diet but like I said earlier its not for every dog due to food allergies so if your boy has had the "runs" for a while since you have changed over I would have him see a vet and tested for any possible allergies - If you can see a vet who understands the BARF diet as some vets don't fully understand the BARF diet.

Good Luck

Do you like my short horror story? It even has a twist in it.?

Gerald sat on the rocking chair of his wide porch watching the summer day fade away, drinking bitter cider, and watching birds peck at the scarecrow which was erected at the bottom of his yard.

People often asked him why he had a scarecrow in his back garden when he did not grow anything of value.

'Because I hate birds crapping in my garden,' he would reply with a smirk.

People could be so stupid sometimes.

The only problem was that the birds were not scared away by the scarecrow. Instead, they were drawn to it.

He had considered taking it down but he had better things to do. Like getting drunk and catching rays. Life was too short for menial tasks.

The evening sun cast pools of red light over the patio and garden in front of him. A warm breeze refreshed him. This was his idea of heaven.

His wife had always said that he was a lazy layabout and that he wasted his time sitting around, drinking and not making any money. His was a waste of life she said.
He would say that life was for enjoying, that we should live in the moment and not slave our guts out all day long just to die without any happy memories. Life had many layers and his favourite layer was the peel. It was easier that way.

She always used to moan and nag and pick at him, but now she was gone. Most people thought that she had eventually left Gerald, fed up with his slovenly ways, but Gerald knew better.

He raised a toast to her memory as another fat crow descended from the red sky to peck at her dead eyes and, not for the first time, he wondered what had killed her - dehydration or sheer terror over the mess he was making in the house and the dishes piling up while she was strapped there.

The beer tasted sweeter then love.

'Rest in peace dear. Rest in peace.'
It won me £300 in a short story competition.
It is not meant to be scary but I thought the image of a man sitting around drinking beer while his wife is hanging, rotting on a cross at the bottom of his garden would disturb most people. Thanks for your honesty.
